Rapid Start-up and Response Time

The MPS™ 5.0 Flammable Gas Sensor detects a broad spectrum of combustible gases, including Hydrogen, and begins checking for gas as early as 32 seconds seconds after power on with a fast response time (T90) <20 seconds..

Catalytic Bead Sensor Replacement Ready

The 3-pin version of the MPS™ 5.0 Flammable Gas Sensor functions as a Catalytic Bead (Pellistor) Series 4 drop-in replacement and eliminates many of the fundamental limitations of catalytic bead technology.

What Gases the MPS™ 5.0 Flammable Gas Sensor Detects

The MPS™ 5.0 Flammable Gas Sensor detects a broad spectrum of combustible gases and mixtures with a single factory calibration. We provide verified TrueLEL performance for a subset of gases that have been fully validated for high-accuracy %LEL measurement, while gas classification provides additional insight into the type of gas present—especially in multi-gas environments.

Highly Robust and Built-in Self Test Features

The MPS™ sensor has a very wide operating range of -40°C to 75°C with up to 100% relative humidity It has built-in environmental compensation and automatic self-testing that continuously evaluates the system to ensure it is operating to specification.

MPS™ 5.0 Certifications

The sensor is certified for all flammable gas environments with ATEX, UL and IECEx certifications.

IECEx approval indicates the equipment is certified to operate safely in explosive atmospheres (hazardous areas) according to International Electrotechnical Commission standards.
Ex-certified refers to equipment designed and tested to operate safely in hazardous, explosive atmospheres by preventing ignition sources. It signifies compliance with stringent standards—such as ATEX in Europe or IECEx internationally—for environments containing flammable gases, vapors, or dust.
NevadaNano FM Approval verifies NevadaNano gas sensors and IoT devices meet high standards of safety, quality, and performance
CSA certification generally refers to a mark indicating a product has been tested and meets specific safety or performance standards set by the CSA Group (formerly Canadian Standards Association) for Canada and the U.S.. It signifies compliance for electrical, mechanical, and industrial products,

The MPS™ 5.0 Flammable Gas Sensor comes in two different formats: The S4 (3-pin and 5-pin options) and the Mini. The S4 is intrinsically safe for certified applications, and the cost-effective Mini targets a variety of applications. Sensor readings are output on either a UART digital bus that provides gas classification or analog output for pellistor replacement with improved performance.
