NevadaNano’s sensor modules are effective in most applications where molecules carried in air are detected and identified. Trace amounts of a suspect molecule type can be detected in amounts as small as 100 femtograms. A femtogram is a millionth of a billionth of a gram. For chemicals, explosives, and contraband, molecules of the suspect substance are detected directly as trace amounts in air. Bio pathogen detection and human health monitoring are performed on molecules produced by a bacteria or virus, or by cells that are functioning abnormally, and then transferred to human breath.
A single configuration of our sensor element, the Self-Sensing ArrayTM, is able to detect hundreds of molecule types. Also, the unique MEMS-based core technology of our sensor modules is small and low cost, making our products applicable in scenarios where a multitude of sensors covers a large area – enabling ubiquitous threat coverage. They are self-cleaning and self-calibrating, enabling unattended operation for extended periods.
